CMO RCOGNIZED BY MINISTRY OF JUSTICE!The Muslim Contact Organization (CMO) is now officially recognized by government.The official recognition was sealed with the signing of contract between the Minister of Justice (Hirsch Ballin) and CMO Chairman (El Boujoufi). CMO is the representative organ of all the Muslim religious groups, movements and associations in the Country. The CMO recognition means that, the Organization would be responsible for all spiritual counselling, care and guidance of Muslims in Government detention and prison facilities. According to Ministry of Justice information, the recognition was not given without fulfilment of associated conditions, in 2004, CMO was recognized by Government as discussion partner for the Muslims in the Country. In June 2005 CMO applied to Ministry of Justice for recognition to take charge of spiritual counselling, care and guidance of all Muslims in Justice Ministry detention and prison facilities, but recognition was in 2005 delayed pending the fulfilment of Government stipulated conditions ( such as representativeness and openness for all Muslim groups, movements and association )by CMO. These conditions according to Government information source have been fulfilled.The services of the Organization to Justice facilities would be evaluated every 3 years.
